Station Oberweiden

Oberweiden station is located in the municipality of the same name in the Lower Austrian district of Gänserndorf. Although the station may make a rather compact impression, rail passengers will find a heated waiting room and publicly accessible sanitary facilities in addition to the two ticket machines installed here. Sandberge Oberweiden

A good half hour's walk further south of the municipality is the Sandberge Oberweiden nature reserve, a unique natural occurrence in Austria. Sand fields were created by the erosion of gravel and sand banks from the surrounding waters, above all the Danube. The resulting remarkable sand flora provides a habitat for a rich diversity of species and a beautiful backdrop for visitors.
