Oberweiden station is located in the municipality of the same name in the Lower Austrian district of Gänserndorf. Although the station may make a rather compact impression, rail passengers will find here, in addition to the two ticket vending machines installed, a heated waiting room and a publicly accessible sanitary facility. Access to the trains is barrier-free throughout, digital train destination displays and loudspeaker announcements round off the comfort offered by the railway.

Sandberge Oberweiden
A good half hour's walk further south of the village is the Sandberge Oberweiden nature reserve, a unique natural occurrence in Austria. Formed by eroded gravel and sand banks from surrounding waters, first and foremost the Danube, drifting sand fields were created. The remarkable sand flora that grows here in turn provides a habitat for a rich diversity of species and a beautiful backdrop for visitors.
