Raasdorf
The village of Raasdorf, which was first mentioned in 1160 as Rechelinsdorf and belonged to the Freising district, is now an independent municipality together with the cadastral municipality of Pysdorf (Bischofsdorf). Most of the commercial enterprises are located in the cadastral municipality of Pysdorf and, alongside the agricultural businesses in the cadastral municipality of Raasdorf, ensure the economic upturn of the 13.2 km² municipality. Agriculture and vegetable growing, which have had a significant impact on the development of our village, have made Raasdorf one of Austria's "vegetable villages". A significant proportion of Austria's carrots, onions, asparagus, artichokes, strawberries and fruit (apricots, cherries, etc.) are harvested and sold in Raasdorf. The proximity to the metropolis of Vienna and the Donauauen National Park with its network of cycle paths provides cyclists with ideal connections.
