Town walls that are enchanting

In Groß-Enzersdorf a a journey through the centuries is on the agenda. During a walk along the town walls history based around war-time experiences and the life of the people in the walled towns comes to life again. Marchegg too has history-steeped experiences. The town was set-up in 1268 by King Przemysl Ottokar at what was at that time the natural border at the March, as a barricade to counter the Magyars. Today visitors can follow the town wall circular path and learn about the historic edifices in the town centre, while also enjoying the extensive views to the riparian landscape provided by the der March.
