Marchfeld

Marchfeld – one of the biggest areas of flat land in the state – located between the state capitals and international metropolises of Vienna and Bratislava.

The region is at the gateway to the federal capital Vienna and provides some gems which are still hidden. Wide fields, gentle hills and the Danube-Auen characterise the Marchfeld landscape.

In the east the area is bordered by the River March and, along with the Danube-Auen National Park to the south, forms a natural environment whose fluvial landscapes and natural alluvial forests provide a unique refuge for numerous plant and animal species.
